Abby Ginzberg

Join us for a round-table discussion on "Getting the Message Out: Media Skills for Public Interest Advocacy" with award-winning documentary producer Abby Ginzberg. The discussion will be held at the William S. Boyd School of Law in room 102.

Ginzberg will discuss the importance of media in advancing public interest and human rights cases and causes. Using several recent examples from public interest litigation, such as Dukes v. Wal-Mart, immigration cases and the expanding importance of social issue documentaries (i.e. Crime After Crime and Hot Coffee), her talk will highlight the crucial role media can play in advancing or hindering targeted outcomes; and how a media strategy dovetails with the litigation strategy. This session will involve several short media examples of work designed to advance social justice/public interest causes.
