Rachel J. Anderson is a Professor of Law at the UNLV William S. Boyd School of Law. She earned her M.A. from Stanford University and her Juris Doctor at the University of California, Berkeley, where she served as Articles Editor on the California Law Review, Executive Editor on the Berkeley Journal of International Law, and Managing Editor of the Berkeley Journal of African-American Law & Policy. Professor Anderson's research and teaching focus on business law, civil and human rights, empirical legal studies, and international law. She teaches business organizations, consumer law, and international business transactions and serves as faculty advisor for the Black Law Students Association, the Gaming Law Journal, and the NAACP's UNLV student chapter. Professor Anderson has published numerous articles in reputed general and specialty law journals, as well as publications for legal practitioners. Her work is widely cited in law reviews, books, and other publications.

Professor Anderson is actively engaged in legal academia and organizations at the local, state, and national levels and is often invited as a speaker for academic conferences, Continuing Legal Education seminars, and community events. She is the President of the Las Vegas Chapter of the National Bar Association, a Director of the American Society of Comparative Law, a Vice President of the American Civil Liberties Union of Nevada, a Vice Chair of the Law Professors Division of the National Bar Association, a member of the National Bar Association's Judicial Selection Committee, and a Director of the U.C. Berkeley Alumni Chapter in Las Vegas. She also serves on the Advisory Board of the Guinn Center for Policy Priorities, the Battle Born Venture Capital Investment Committee, and the Nevada Legislature's Advisory Commission on the Administration of Justice’s Subcommittee to Review Arrestee DNA.

Before joining the law school in 2007, Professor Anderson worked on international development projects and general corporate, mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, and securities matters at MVV Consulting GmbH in Berlin, Germany, and Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, respectively. She is the recipient of an Olin Law and Economics Fellowship and a Justice Ira F. Thomson Fellowship from the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law, the Medal of Justice from the State Bar of Nevada, a Special Congressional Recognition from U.S. Congressman Steven Horsford, the Outstanding Service Award from the Law Professors Division of the National Bar Association, was recognized by the Progressive Leadership Alliance of Nevada, and was selected for Lawyers of Color magazine's Law School Diversity 50 Under 50 List.
