Application Information for Indian Students

Eligibility for Indian Students to Apply

We invite Indian students from various disciplines who are interested in human rights to apply to the program. Law students should be in the fourth or fifth year of their LLB program or pursuing an LLM or other advanced degree. Students from other disciplines should have completed their bachelor’s degree and be enrolled in a graduate program of study.

Academic Credit and Certificates

Whether or not the student receives academic credit for the program will be left to the discretion of the student’s school. The program will provide Indian students with certificates of completion. Indian students who do well in the program may also obtain letters of recommendation from the faculty.

Program Cost for Indian Students

There is no tuition to participate in the program for Indian students. However, Indian students will be responsible to pay for the cost of their own housing, food, and transportation during the program. Stipends are available for outstanding Indian students who would like to serve as Program Assistants.

Application Deadline for Indian Students

Indian students must apply by December 1, 2013 to participate in the program. Applicants will be accepted on a rolling basis and are encouraged to apply as early as possible. There is no application fee.

Application Materials

Indian students must submit the application form, along with a transcript and a 1-2 page statement about why they want to participate in the program. Students who are interested in being Program Assistants, which requires greater responsibility and comes with a stipend, should explain in their statements why they want to take on this role and what relevant experiences they bring to the position.

Please email your application materials to Professor Fatma Marouf at fatma.marouf@unlv.edu.
