Welcome to the William S. Boyd School of Law website. I am delighted to invite you to learn more about our fine law school and dynamic community. I am sure you will be impressed with what you find.

Ours is a close knit community, dedicated to educational excellence. Our students are active and supportive of one another, whether it is through our many student organizations or one-on-one, studying for class. Our faculty is productive and accomplished, ensuring you will be taught by leaders in their respective fields. Our staff is committed to helping the students excel during their law school experience. Together we are developing conscientious, skilled, engaged lawyers who can tackle the multifaceted issues that confront the new cities of the Intermountain West and, increasingly, the rest of the country.

From the start of our young school, the Boyd faculty has integrated into the rigorous analytic training of traditional legal education, instruction in skills and professionalism. Our Lawyering Process program, Saltman Center for Conflict Resolution, externship, clinical, simulation, service learning and community service programs help our students see issues as they will when in practice so they might grasp the challenge many lawyers face daily. We want our students to understand legal practice as a unique combination of creative and applied intellectual endeavor. We want students to know that lawyers have great responsibility, as professionals with a privileged position in the community and as officers of the courts, to work for the betterment of their communities.
