DeShun Harris earned her B.A. in Political Science from Baylor University in 2006 and a J.D. in 2009 from Texas Tech University School of Law summa cum laude. As a law student, she was inducted into two honor societies, the Order of the Coif and Phi Kappa Phi. In 2010, Ms. Harris earned a LL.M. from American University, Washington College of Law with a concentration in Constitutional Law and Civil Rights. She has been a member of the State Bar of Texas since 2009. In law school, she served as Articles Editor for the Estate Planning and Community Property Law Journal and as Secretary and Sergeant at Arms for the Black Law Students Association. After she received her Master of Laws, she became an Adjunct Professor and Assistant Director of Recruitment at Texas Tech University School of Law and later accepted a dedicated academic success position as a Critical Legal Skills Instructor at Phoenix School of Law. Ms. Harris joined Boyd in 2012. She serves as Chair of the Diversity Committee for the Association of Academic Support Educators. She is also engaged in the local community and volunteers at Three Square, a non-profit food bank.
