The Immigration Clinic takes on the most intensive, highest-stakes deportation defense cases, where the expertise of the law school, ability to experiment, and dedication of our students can do the most good. These cases often involve people seeking protection from persecution in other countries; each one requires dozens or hundreds of hours of legal work, and often takes more than a year to resolve.
Currently, we focus on three main types of cases:
- Unaccompanied children and separated families,
- People detained by the Department of Homeland Security,
- UNLV students, staff and their families (for a wide range of immigration-related legal needs).
In some cases, we represent detained immigrants in seeking bond or release from detention, but not in their overall removal defense.
Call 702-895-2080 for case intake. We will ask for basic information about the case. Please understand that we take this information to be able to assess whether we can assist. It does not guarantee that we can provide legal services. Our capacity limitations prevent us from helping everyone who we would like to.
