From Dean Dan - October 12, 2020
We are grateful to the Las Vegas chapter of the National Bar Association for partnering with the UNLV Boyd Black Law Student Association to create a new mentorship program for college and law students to work with members of the legal community in the Las Vegas valley. On October 3, the LVNBA and BLSA held an online mentorship mixer that brought together both students and legal professionals to begin establishing these relationships. Participants will have the opportunity to shadow their mentor in court and other legal settings, conduct mock interviews and review students' resumes, and attend networking events. Students outside of BLSA are also encouraged to join.
Thanks to Renee Becker, past Vice President and Chief Counsel at Caesars Entertainment Corporation, a leader of the LVNBA, and member of the Justice Douglas Prelaw Program at the law school for creating this important new mentorship program. Thanks also to Augusta Massey, President of the LVNBA and alum, along with BLSA President, Sebastian Ross and BLSA Director of Outreach, Rachel Ayele for bringing this meaningful program to Boyd and the community.
Be well,
Dan
