Leading Native American law students propels Zuniga to more ambitious goals
Makai Zuniga (’25), president of Boyd’s Native American Law Student Association (NALSA), is leading with purpose and making history. Under his leadership, Boyd’s NALSA chapter won the bid to host the 2025 National Moot Court Competition—the first time in Nevada. A citizen of the Reno-Sparks Indian Colony, Zuniga is passionate about expanding Native representation in law and advocating for underserved tribal communities.

Mock Trial, Moot Court Teams Finalize Successful Competition Season
The Society of Advocates wrapped up the 2024-2025 academic year competition season, which included competitions around the country. Throughout the season, Boyd Law teams took home top prizes for brief writing and individual oralists.
