With the April 15th deadline for filing federal tax returns around the corner, the National Immigration Law Center (NILC) and the Center for Budget and Policy Priorities (CBPP) invite tax practitioners, community-based organizations, constituent services staff, and low-income tax payer clinics to join us on a webinar that will provide an overview of the current tax environment for immigrant tax filers. The webinar will address concerns about confidentiality of personal tax information for immigrants, (Individual Tax Payer Identification Number) ITIN filing and renewals, and other issues facing immigrant tax filers. The webinar will focus on updates about the new rule in 2019 affecting ITIN renewal (and new applications) for dependents who live outside the U.S., which ITIN holders received renewal notices in the 2019 for this tax filing season, how to renew ITINs,  and the requirements for claiming the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) and Child Tax Credit (CTC).
