Distinguished Visiting Professor of Legal Process
Bio:

Katherine Silver Kelly is a Distinguished Visiting Professor of Legal Process. She is visiting from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law where she is an accomplished clinical professor of law. At Ohio State Professor Kelly teaches first year legal analysis and writing classes and is a coach in the moot court program. She serves as the faculty advisor for both the Black Law Students Association and the Military and Veteran Law Student Association. Professor Kelly was honored with the College’s Morgan E. Shipman award for excellence in teaching in both 2016 and 2021. In 2017, she was awarded the Ohio State University Alumni Award for Distinguished Teaching.

Professor Kelly’s scholarship focuses on legal pedagogy, accessibility, standardized tests, and the high stakes environment of law school. Her work has appeared or is forthcoming in the ABA Journal, The Learning Curve, the Law Teacher, and the Arkansas Law Review. She is also the author of The Short and Happy Guide to the MPT, and the MPT component of Critical Pass Flashcards, both published by West Academic.

Professor Kelly has served on numerous committees in national legal writing organizations and mentors new lawyers in the Ohio Supreme Court Lawyer to Lawyer Mentoring Program. At Ohio State, she also serves on the University Library Committee and the University Conduct Board.

Prior to joining the faculty at Ohio State, Professor Kelly served as a judicial attorney for Judge Elinore Marsh Stormer at the Summit County Court of Common Pleas and then as the director of Academic Success Programs at the University of Akron School of Law.
