Bio:
Judge Mike Nakagawa has served on the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Nevada since September 1, 2006. He received his law degree from the School of Law at the University of California in Davis. Judge Nakagawa practiced in bankruptcy and commercial law primarily in California and Nevada until his judicial appointment. He served as Chief Bankruptcy Judge from 2008 to 2015. Judge Nakagawa was reappointed to the bankruptcy bench in 2020. He taught bankruptcy law and business reorganization for more than ten years as an adjunct professor at McGeorge School of Law and Lincoln Law School in Sacramento. Since 2010, Judge Nakagawa has taught courses in basic bankruptcy law and remedies at Boyd School of Law.
