What are your memories of immigrating to the United States as a child?
I was very young at the time, so I don’t really remember much. What I do recall is how much my parents sacrificed coming to an unknown country. While we didn’t have a lot growing up, my parents always sought what was best for me and my siblings. Their struggles and love are definitely ingrained in my brain and have been the biggest motivators in my life.
You have considerable experience working in the law firm environment, prior to law school and while a part-time law student, right?
I’ve been working in the law firm environment for almost eight years now. I’ve worked my way up from being a file clerk to a law clerk, and learned the intricacies hidden behind the scenes of a law firm. Now I am looking at taking the next step and beginning my legal career.
So is private practice where you see yourself in the long run?
Yes, the plan is to go into private practice after taking the bar exam in July. Having worked so long in the law firm environment, I can’t really picture myself anywhere else. Besides, private practice will allow me to make the most of my law degree.
Mountains or ocean?
Mountains! Few things compare to the beauty of a Vegas sunset, in my opinion. The way the light hits those mountains is a real work of art.
