Jazmine Thompson

You played collegiate softball at Weber State University. What was the highlight of your playing career?
Making school history by playing in the NCAA Division I Regional tournament back to back was unimaginable. Additionally, I am grateful for the mental toughness softball demanded. I apply it to my academic and legal career daily.
And what was the highlight of your first year of law school at Boyd?
Sitting on a panel with Senator Kamala Harris to discuss her plans for immigration policy was absolutely incredible. I credit opportunities like those to my involvement with the Black Law Students Association and the Student Bar Association. Organizational Involvement has provided me with guidance and opportunities that I may have not been exposed to otherwise. It has also given me a platform to be the biggest cheerleader for my classmates' successes.
What are your aspirations for the Black Law Students Association (BLSA) as its president this year?
This year, I plan to expand on many intricate components of what it means to be a part of BLSA. When students make the decision to join BLSA, I want them to feel like they have joined a family and an established legacy dedicated to legal development. Our executive board plans to focus on adding to Boyd's advancement, establishing a stronger connection with BLSA's respected community, and assisting with BLSA members' prosperity.
You are given a one-time ticket to board a time machine and witness any event in history. What's your event of choice?
July 29, 1981 – Lady Diana and Prince Charles's wedding. That was probably lame...but I love weddings and how iconic, right?
