You attended United States Marine Corps Officer Candidate School over the summer. What was that experience like?

I was humbled by my first real taste of the discipline and camaraderie that our service members rely upon on a daily basis to keep our country safe. I have never appreciated the luxury of private bathrooms, sleeping in, and leisurely eaten meals more. I now enthusiastically take on more challenges in my everyday life as opportunities for growth.

As president of the Asian Pacific American Law Student Association this year, what are your plans for the organization?

Our organization will focus on fostering ties not only among Asian-American groups in Las Vegas, but also with the greater community through public service. Our bar review this semester will include a fundraiser for Bamboo Bridges, a local non-profit that raises awareness of social issues such as domestic violence and trafficking and provides affected children and women solutions and protection.

What was the highlight of your undergraduate years at Cal?

At UC Berkeley, I was always surrounded by peers and mentors who were accomplished and set on bringing leadership and positive change to the community. Uncommon talent was the norm, and there was always much to learn from others be it traditional asiatic archery or software engineering principles for Silicon Valley’s next hot start-up.

I am proud to say that Boyd is also full of such brilliant students who will undoubtedly shape the foundations of our society through law and public service.

And what's been the highlight of your years at Boyd?

I will forever have fond memories of the deep friendships and insights I have gained from participating in our intramural law competitions. Any performance anxiety I ever had was always dwarfed by the invaluable feedback and support I received (shout-out to the Barricks!).
