Tough question: Of your many and varied experiences at Boyd, which rises above the others?

During my time as a student attorney in the Misdemeanor Clinic, my student co-counsel and I got a seven-year-old conviction vacated. Our client never gave his prior attorney permission to plead guilty on his behalf, but his prior attorney pled guilty anyway. The judge granted our request to vacate the conviction and we negotiated a better deal for our client. From this and other experiences in the clinic, I learned what being an advocate truly means and cannot wait to continue advocating for others.

What do you do for fun?

I have a ton of hobbies to get my mind away from work. I prioritize exercising my mind and body at the gym or in yoga classes. I also enjoy working with my hands and take woodworking classes with my moot court partner, Carmen. We just finished making some one-of-a-kind lamps. Currently, I am crocheting a blanket and, right before finals, Dean Sara Gordon taught us to knit, so now I am knitting a scarf too. Last but not least, I spend a lot of time with my friends, enjoying their company and eating good food. We love brunch, but who doesn’t?

Tell us about your plans following graduation and the bar exam.

Right after the bar exam, I plan on taking some well-deserved rest and relaxation time. I am jumping on a plan to Costa Rica for a surf and yoga retreat sans Wi-Fi. After that, I will start as an associate attorney at Fox Rothschild LLP. I was a summer associate at Fox Rothschild and have already made many personal connections at the firm. I look forward to starting my career at an excellent firm with a great team.
