With more and more students expressing an interest in conflict resolution, the UNLV William S. Boyd School of Law unveiled the Dispute Resolution Concentration during the 2017-18 academic year. The concentration gives students the opportunity to thoroughly explore the main elements of alternative dispute resolution—negotiation, arbitration, and mediation—as the legal field continues to move away from litigation as the main tactic for settling disputes.

Saltman Center Clinics: Parking Arbitration Program Offers Students Valuable Experience

Ever receive a parking citation you don’t believe you deserved? It happens all the time on UNLV’s campus, which is why the university’s Parking Services department joined forces with the Saltman Center to create the Parking Arbitration Program. Here UNLV Law students serve as trained arbiters, rendering decisions after hearing appeals from those who believe they were wrongly ticketed.
