Professor Jennifer Brown, Quinnipiac Law School, speaks on "The Promise and Paradox of Restorative Discipline." The concept of 'restorative discipline' merges restorative justice theory with attempts to reform attorney disciplinary processes. Restorative discipline would give more attention than our current system does to the interests and needs of clients who have been harmed by attorney misconduct. Such reforms might be able to bring misbehaving lawyers back into the fold, and even help restore the public's faith in lawyers and the legal profession more generally.
