Student Lawyer magazine highlights Unaccompanied Minors program
The AmeriCorps fellows who help unaccompanied children from the offices of the Thomas & Mack Legal Clinic do not have much company.
Student Lawyer magazine noted that the Boyd School of Law “was one of seven organizations in the nation — and the only law school — to receive an AmeriCorps grant to help immigrant children.” The grant funds two lawyers, Katelyn Leese and Alissa Cooley, who represent a growing number of unaccompanied children fleeing violence in El Salvador, Honduras and Guatemala.
