UNLV Immigration Clinic will provide free assistance with DACA renewal forms, while Boyd student groups organize a DACA event for Sept. 16
UPDATED 9/14/17
The UNLV Immigration Clinic will be assisting with preparation of DACA renewal forms for Nevada residents free of charge between now and October 2. Assistance will be provided by volunteer law students, faculty, staff and alumni at the William S. Boyd School of Law, under the supervision of the clinic's attorneys.
To be eligible to renew DACA you must be a current DACA recipient and your current DACA expiration date must be between now and March 5, 2018. There is no fee waiver for the DACA application so renewals are only available to those able to pay the $495 application fee to USCIS. However, there are some local organizations that can assist some people with the fee, and the clinic can make referrals for this assistance when needed.
Renewal applications must be received by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services by Oct. 5. Call the Immigration Clinic at 702-895-2080 for more information or to make an appointment. We plan to offer this service to the community until October 2.
In addition, three Boyd student groups - La Voz, Black Law Students Association, and Immigration Law Society - have organized a DACA event at the law school for Saturday, September 16 at 10 a.m. The event will include an information panel with local lawyers, and volunteers who can assist with DACA renewal forms.
