Fall Semester 2020 (7/30/2020)

After a great deal of thought and discussion, and in order to best protect the health and safety of our students, faculty, and staff, I have made the difficult decision to convert all of our fall courses to remote delivery. Our first commitment is to protecting our community and this step is now necessary, given the public health challenges we face as a state and a nation. 

I recognize this may well be disappointing to many in the law school community, and this is not what any of us signed up for. That said, UNLV Boyd is still UNLV Boyd, and we are committed to providing rich and substantive engagement among students, faculty, and staff. We will do everything in our power to maintain our vibrant and innovative legal education environment.

Our faculty is responsive and available, and cares deeply about student success. This remains true whatever the method our courses are delivered. The faculty has been working throughout the summer to ensure they provide excellent online instruction. Many faculty see the current circumstances as an unintended but potentially valuable opportunity to teach excellent courses online that will be helpful to our students in the increasingly online world of law practice.

What sets Boyd apart is our focus on our students as individuals and on building a connected and supportive community. This is our challenge as we move online, and we will rise to this challenge.
