AMERICAN SOCIETY FOR LEGAL HISTORY
2017 ANNUAL MEETING
For the first time in the Society’s history, the 2017 annual meeting will take place in Las Vegas, Nevada. The meeting will be held from October 26, 2017 to October 29, 2017, and the meeting hotel is the Red Rock Casino Resort Spa, which is offering a guest room rate of $184.99 plus tax. The University of Nevada Las Vegas William S. Boyd School of Law is the principal sponsor of the meeting, and part of the meeting will be held at the School. The Plenary Lecture will be delivered by Tomiko Brown-Nagin of Harvard Law School and the preliminary program will be available on September 1, 2017. Transportation will be provided linking the Resort with the School. The Closing Reception will be held on the “Strip” at the Mob Museum, and bus transportation will be provided. For those who prefer to stay at a hotel closer to those venues, on the “Strip”, cheaper, and unionized, there is a supplementary bloc of rooms at Boulder Station Hotel and Casino for $101.98 (Wednesday and Thursday) and $111.98 (Friday and Saturday). No panels are scheduled there, but it is about 30 minutes (by cab, Uber, or Lyft) from the main program venue at Red Rock Station.The Local Arrangements Committee has produced a flyer.
The Las Vegas airport is McCarran International Airport, which offers direct flights from throughout the United States, from Canada, Mexico, Europe and Asia. The Red Rock provides free airport pickup and a free shuttle to and from the “Strip.”
