Overview
In today's healthcare market, entities are increasingly pursing mergers and acquisitions to expand their competitive footprints and enhance patient access. These transactions implicate state and federal antitrust and competition laws which are designed to protect and promote quality of care, market competition, and fair prices. This CLE will provide an introduction to key federal antitrust statutes and basic antitrust principles as they apply to participants in the healthcare sector. The discussion will include ways to help ensure a transaction withstands government review.
Presenter
Mr. Cory Talbot, a partner in the Salt Lake City office of Holland and Hart LLP. Mr. Talbot's antitrust practice covers litigation as well as regulatory matters, compliance, audits, and guidance through the mergers, acquisitions, and the formation of joint ventures. In the health industry, Mr. Talbot's antitrust counseling covers a broad array of transactions, including clinical and financial integration, joint ventures, and the formation and operations of Affordable Care Organizations (ACOs).
