The presentation will discuss and compare the relationship that exists between church and state in our American Constitutional system as well as how that relationship is understood in the formal social teachings of the Catholic Church. Specific reference will be made to contemporary constitutional cases impacting church/state relations in the United States as well as the relationship of Catholic social doctrine to other governmental systems.
