CLE: Erwin Chemerinsky -- Dean of the UC Irvine Law School and recognized expert on the Supreme Court

Professor Erwin Chemerinsky, one of the state bar's most highly regarded speakers, will discuss cases on the SCOTUS docket that are of great interest to Nevada practitioners.
Cases scheduled on the October, 2011 docket include:
- The First Amendment discussion will include Mohamed v. Jeppsen - A challenge to the government's assertion of the "state secrets" privilege and Snyder v. Phelps - an examination of the role of emotional distress in tort suits.
- Whistle blowers "Qui tam" lawsuits will be examined in Schindler Elevator Corp. v. United States ex. Rel. Kirk.
- The Fourth Amendment warrant exception rule in Kentucky v. King and the Civil rights cases of United States v. Tohono O'dham Nation, as well as cases questioning state tax credits for religious schools and challenges to the death penalty are all tentatively on the table for discussion.
The CLE program will be from 1:30 to 4:45 p.m. with a reception to follow.
