Pro bono programs that will be discussed:

  • Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada and Nevada Legal Services, Inc. – Both of these programs match attorneys with low-income individuals in need of legal assistance.

  • Gaming Registration – Attorneys can assist individuals in the appeal process in the event their registration with the Nevada State Gaming Control Board is denied.

  • State Bar of Nevada Short Trial Volunteer Attorney Program – Attorneys are paired with pro se litigants in need of legal representation in their short trials.

  • Southern Nevada Senior Law Program – Attorneys can assist seniors with matters involving estate planning and probate, healthcare directives, guardianship, real estate and government benefits.

  • District of Nevada Pro Bono Pilot Program – Under the Pro Bono Pilot Program, at any time during the course of litigation, an assigned judge may refer a case to the program for appointment of pro bono counsel.  This program allows attorneys to gain experience practicing in Federal court.

  • Ninth Circuit Pro Bono Program – Attorneys are paired with pro se parties with meritorious or complex appeals, to provide a valuable learning experience to young attorneys and law students, and to assist the court in processing pro se civil appeals more equitably and efficiently.
