Federalist Society Presents Prof. John Kunich on Anti-Blasphemy Laws and Hate Speech

Prof. John C. Kunich, a Senior Fulbright Specialist, will come and speak on the issue of anti-blasphemy and hate speech. Boyd Constitutional Law Prof. Thomas McAffee will provide critical commentary.

Professor Kunich's current work deals primarily with the threat to freedom of expression worldwide from a host of “anti-blasphemy” and hate-speech laws, and the danger that this suppression will spread to the United States, as explained in my forthcoming book, Banning Blasphemy: The Global Holy War against Free Speech. Such laws may be well-intentioned but can easily lead to severe restrictions on freedom of expression as well as the elimination of missionary work or freedom of worship by non-majority religions.
