The Nuts and Bolts of Exempt Organizations CLE

3.5 General CLE Credits

This seminar is intended for any individual interested in learning the nuts and bolts of exempt organizations from a tax and legal perspective. The seminar is FREE to accountants and to any attorney willing to volunteer by either taking a pro bono case or providing several hours of counseling (at your availability) at one of our legal clinics. Non-volunteer attorneys may attend the CLE by submitting a $75 payment. Participants will receive 3.5 general CLE credits.

Mr. Yacker will address the exempt organization universe from a tax and legal perspective; private inurement, private benefits, unrelated business income, insider (conflict) transactions, reasonable compensation, state charitable solicitation, registrations, and required policies and procedures of exempt organizations.

2:30 pm - 2:45 pm -- Break

2:45 pm - 3:15 pm -- Eric H. Franklin
Professor Franklin will address the common issues and problems that arise from non-profit organizations and small business.

3:15 pm - 3:45 pm -- Panel Discussion
