Over his quarter-century-long career examining impacts of the global gaming industry, Dr. Bo Bernhard has worked on all six inhabited continents and in more than 50 jurisdictions overall.  He began his research career during his years as an undergraduate at Harvard University, completing a thesis on the impacts of the gaming industry.  This thesis led him to the University of Nevada, Las Vegas to pursue a Ph.D. focusing on gaming industry studies.  While still a student he co-founded The Problem Gambling Center. In his current role as Executive Director at UNLV's International Gaming Institute, Bo oversees the world's largest academic institute dedicated to the study of the global gaming industry. Dr. Bernhard has published his research in the top journals in both the business sciences and the social sciences.  He currently edits a leading peer-reviewed gaming journal, Gaming Research and Review. He has delivered over 250 keynote addresses to global government, academic, and industry leaders at every major conference in his field. Over the course of his career, Dr. Bernhard's work has earned him several awards and recognition.  This past year, he was given the Philip G. Satre Chair for Gaming Studies, which is widely recognized as the most prestigious chair in gaming studies, at both the University of Nevada, Reno and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
