For many businesses, establishing a strong brand and protecting their inventions and other creations is an essential ingredient for success, and the company’s logo, distinctive product packaging, or web content can become important business assets. This class will cover the basic information every business owner needs to know about trademark, copyright, patent, and trade secrets law, including:
- How you can legally protect your unique business identity and content;
- When you can use someone else’s logo, photos, music, or written work; and
- What happens when someone uses protected content without permission.
This class is presented by law students enrolled at the UNLV William S. Boyd School of Law in partnership with Nevada Legal Services and the Nevada Small Business Development Center. It is not a substitute for legal counsel, and the presenters will not provide legal advice. If you need help with a particular filing or other intellectual property issue, you should contact a licensed attorney for assistance.
This event will be held at the Nevada State Business Center, on the fourth floor, Nevada Room.
