After the NCAA v. Alston decision, the landscape for collegiate athletes changed. This panel will discuss the updated law and realities of NIL in collegiate athletics.
Presenters
Francisco Aguilar – Francisco serves as Partner of Blueprint Sports & Entertainment. A graduate of the University of Arizona, recently, Francisco spend a year working at Adidas Global Headquarters in Germany as a member of the Brand Sustainability Team.
Prior to his time with Adidas, Francisco served as General Counsel for Agassi/Graf, the management company for professional tennis stars Andre Agassi and Stehanie Graf, and the Andre Agassi Foundation for Education. Additionally, Nevada Governors Jim Gibbons and Brian Sandoval appointed Francsico to serve on the Nevada Athletic Commission. During two of those years, he served as the youngest Chairman of the Commission in Nevada State history.
Steven Pacitti – Steven’s practice focuses on intellectual property, sports and entertainment, business transactions and entities, including nonprofit entities, tax and real estate, . Mr. Pacitti is rated "AV Preeminent, 5.0 out of 5.0", Martindale-Hubbell's highest ranking. Mr. Pacitti has also been selected as a Mountain States Super Lawyer and a top Las Vegas business, contract and tax lawyer by VegasLegal, Vegas Inc. and Desert Companion magazines. Mr. Pacitti acts as outside general counsel for the Greater Las Vegas Association of Realtors, as well as numerous businesses and individuals. He represents some of the most recognizable names in sports and entertainment, including Coolio, women's MMA fight promoter, INVICTA FC, VIP Tickets, Disaster Productions, world champion boxers Danny Romero, Shawn Porter and the late Leon Spinks, MMA fighters, Georges' St-Pierre, Cung Le, Brian Stann, Rashad Evans and Roy Nelson, as well as several other athletes, managers, media, seconds, promoters and sponsors in the mixed-martial arts industry. He also represents some of the world's most famous comics and celebrity impersonators and has acted as production counsel for numerous television and movie productions, including "The Art of Conversation with Dan Page 1 of 4 Le Batard" on ESPN.
