Leaders in gaming understand the importance of innovation to the success of their organizations. They understand that
innovation is about people. From geographical location to types of industry participants, the scope of people in gaming
is expanding. And so too is our understanding of how inclusivity drives innovation. Join Dr. Brittnie Watkins, the Nevada
Gaming Control Board’s newest member, as she offers a fresh perspective to explore how the dynamic relationship
between innovation and inclusion is impacting gaming during this era of gaming expansion.

About Dr. Brittnie Watkins
Since May 2021, Dr. Brittnie Watkins has put her distinct repertoire of knowledge and experience to work for the Nevada Gaming Control Board (Board), helping to ensure that Nevada remains the gold standard in gaming while adapting to the unprecedented, yet innovative times bred by gaming expansion and the pandemic. Her roles on the Board include oversight of the Audit Division, Administration Division, and recently constructed Esports Technical Advisory Committee. Dr. Watkins joined the Board after practicing hotel and gaming litigation as an attorney with Pisanelli Bice, earning her a place in The Best Lawyers in America. In 2020, she became the first Black woman to be elected to the State Bar of Nevada Board of Governors, responsible for regulating Nevada’s legal profession.

She has earned several degrees, including a master’s in criminal justice, doctorate in educational psychology, juris doctor, and master of laws in gaming law and regulation from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV).

Her work during that time has won her high accolades related to scholarship, leadership, and community.
