Discussions in Dispute Resolution: The Foundational Articles
Discussions in Dispute Resolution: The Foundational Articles
March 4, March 11, March 18 and March 25, 2021
10 am - 12:00 pm
The Center on Negotiation and Mediation congratulates Art Hinshaw, Sarah Cole, and Andrea Schneider on the publication of their new book, Discussions in Dispute Resolution: The Foundational Articles. This book features 16 foundational writings, four pieces from each of the field's primary subfields--negotiation, mediation, arbitration, and public policy, along with contemporary commentaries discussing “why is this work a foundational piece in the dispute resolution field?” And we are honored that they chose to include pieces by two faculty members in our Center: Professor Leonard Riskin’s famous piece on the grid and a commentary by Professor Alyson Carrel.
In celebration, we invite you to join us for a series of online events that highlight the origin stories to four of the foundational articles included in the new book, including Professor Leonard Riskin’s Understanding Mediators’ Orientations, Strategies, and Techniques: A Grid for the Perplexed.
Every Thursday in March, one of the book’s editors will interview an author about the origins of the featured article. On the final Thursday, March 25, following his interview, we will take the opportunity to celebrate the impact and legacy of our colleague and friend, Professor Leonard Riskin. We hope you can join us.
