Navajo Code Talkers of World War II
John Kinsel, Sr., one of the last three living Navajo code talkers, passed away in October at the age of 107. During World War II, hundreds of Navajos were recruited by the U.S. government to serve as Code Talkers. This special group transmitted messages on the Navajo's then-unwritten language. The Code Talkers sent thousands of messages without their code being broken by the Axis powers.
Join the Indian Nations Gaming & Governance Program in Room 316 of the Wiener-Rogers Law Library for a screening of the PBS documentary, "Navajo Code Talkers of World War II." Lunch will be provided.
