While America has endured the brunt of the COVID-19 impact here at home, it has suffered internationally as well. U.S. standing in the world has declined, and many now call into question America's ability to shape and lead the international community. Indeed, this is the first truly global crisis in nearly 100 years in which the United States has not played a leadership role. How can the United States regain its more traditional global role, while ensuring the American people remain safe and the economy fully rebounds? Drawing upon his years of service in senior international policy and legal roles, Ambassador Verma will provide a post-pandemic roadmap for revitalizing American leadership abroad, and will argue against the many calls for American retreat and retrenchment behind both real and perceived walls. Please join UNLV, Senator Reid and Ambassador Verma for this timely, provocative and important discussion.
