Angela Cook

Bio:

Angela M. Cook, Esq. is the Team Chief Attorney for the Children’s Attorneys Project (CAP) at the Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada (LACSN), where she has been practicing child welfare law since joining in 2015. Additionally, she serves as an Adjunct Professor of Law at William S. Boyd School of Law, teaching in the Samuel S. Lionel Externship Program. Currently, Angela holds leadership positions as the President of the Las Vegas Chapter of the National Bar Association (LVNBA) and as the Nevada State Coordinator for the National Association of Counsel for Children (NACC).

Cook has been an integral part of Boyd Law since 2013, initially serving as a student attorney in the Thomas & Mack Family Justice Clinic and externing with LACSN’s Domestic Violence Unit. Cook clerked for the Honorable Sandra L. Pomrenze in the Family Division of the Clark County Eighth Judicial District Court. She was also a judicial extern for the Honorable Michael L. Douglas of the Nevada Supreme Court. In addition to her work with the public, Cook has contributed in other leadership roles where she has served as a member of the Society of Advocates and the Thurgood Marshall Mock Trial Team, Business Editor of the Gaming Law Journal, President of the Minority Law Student Association, and Vice President of the Black Law Student Association.
