Bio:

Drew Simshaw is a legal scholar and educator whose work bridges emerging technologies, legal ethics, and access to justice, with a practice background in communications and technology law advocacy on behalf of public interest organizations. He earned his B.A. from the University of Washington, his J.D. from the Indiana University Maurer School of Law—where he served as an Articles Editor for the Federal Communications Law Journal—and his LL.M. in Advocacy with distinction from Georgetown University Law Center.

Simshaw taught at Georgetown Law as a Visiting Associate Professor of Law in the Legal Practice program. He instructed first-year students in legal writing and analysis and led a seminar for upper-level Law Fellows. As a supervising attorney with Georgetown’s Institute for Public Representation, he specialized in communications and technology law, representing public interest organizations in agency proceedings and federal appellate litigation. In 2017, he was honored with the H. Latham Breunig Humanitarian Award from Telecommunications for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, Inc., recognizing his advocacy on behalf of individuals with disabilities.
