John Giordani
.John Giordani is a Chief Deputy District Attorney with the Clark County District Attorney's Homicide Team. He is an experienced litigator and trial attorney, having tried approximately 70 cases, to include 30 murder cases, to verdict. John deeply believes in the rule of law, and seeks justice daily on behalf of victims, their families, and the State of Nevada.
John is a proud UNLV and William S. Boyd School of Law alumni. He obtained his Bachelor's Degree from UNLV in Criminal Justice in 2008 and his Juris Doctorate from William S. Boyd School of Law in 2011.
John was hired out of law school as a Judicial Law Clerk in 2011 by The Honorable Michael Villani in Department XVII of the 8th Judicial District Court. A short time later, John was hired on as a Law Clerk with the Clark County District Attorney's Office. He was promoted to Deputy District Attorney in 2012, and spent his early years there as a Deputy handling a wide range of criminal cases on General Litigation teams.
In the first four years of his career as a prosecutor, John tried 26 cases to verdict and in 2017, was promoted to Chief Deputy District Attorney on the Major Violators - Gun Crimes Team. After serving on the Major Violators - Gun Crimes Team, John was promoted to the Major Violators - Homicide Team, where he has practiced ever since. John carries a caseload of approximately 30 homicide cases at any given time. John is also a training Deputy, providing CLE presentations to the DA's office, new Deputy training on how to conduct effective closing arguments, and introductory training for newly-empaneled Grand Jurors on Major Violator's cases.
John is also active with the State Bar and is the Chair of the State Bar's Mock Trial Committee, where he plans and conducts yearly Northern Regional, Southern Regional, and State Championship tournaments.
