Adjunct Professor Stanford Owen Honored at 2016 UNLV Academic Achievement Awards
Adjunct Professor Stanford B. Owen was honored April 20 with an award for Outstanding Teaching by Part-time Faculty at the UNLV Academic Achievement Awards Ceremony and Reception.
Sponsored by the Office of the President and the Office of the Executive Vice President and Provost, the awards celebrate the numerous achievements of the UNLV faculty.
As explained in his nomination letter, the detail that best illustrates Adjunct Professor Owen’s enthusiasm and dedication to teaching Boyd law students for the last 10 years is he has “spent his Thursdays flying to Las Vegas from Salt Lake City to teach two three-hour classes, and then flying back to Salt Lake City” – all for his love of teaching.
Adjunct Professor Owen teaches four courses each year: Pre-trial Litigation (once in the spring and once in the fall), Antitrust Law, and Civil Discovery. Boyd students also selected him as Adjunct Faculty of the Year in 2015.
