Boyd Alumna Receives Rookie of the Year Award

Rona-Kaye Tuitele ’06 is this year’s recipient of the Rookie of the Year Award from the Southern Nevada Office of the Attorney General. This marks the second consecutive year that a Boyd School of Law graduate has earned this distinction.

Karen A. Whelan and Alicia Lerud, both Boyd graduates from the class of 2006, received last year’s award. Whelan received the award for the southern portion of the state and Lerud for the northern portion of the state.

The Rookie of the Year Award is given each year by the Nevada Attorney General’s Office to a deputy attorney general who has been nominated by her supervising attorney and has been working for 18 months or less. The Attorney General reviews the nominees and determines the recipients.

Tuitele is a deputy attorney general in the Civil Division of the Attorney General’s Office in Las Vegas.
