Developed initially for attorneys as a Continuing Legal Education course (CLE) carrying ethics credit, the four-month lecture series also was opened to law students.

Motivated primarily by a love of history, Kimberly said she decided to attended all four lectures before she learned about the scholarship competition.

More recently, Kimberly contributed her advocacy skills to a team that won the Society of Advocates Mock Trials Competition in October 2009.

Eight four-member teams competed, and according to Siria Gutierrez ‘10, President 2009-2010 SOA, “There was some fantastic advocacy! I assure you it was a hard fought battle to the finals.”

She added, “Each member of the winning team received a free 3-day MBE Final Review Bar Prep Course, valued at $499, courtesy of Kaplan PMBR. In addition, their names will be memorialized in a plaque and displayed at the school.”

Kimberly holds two Bachelor of Arts Degrees from Washington State University, Pullman: one in comparative ethnic studies and another in women’s studies with a minor in economics specializing in sustainable development.
