About La Voz
In its fourth year at the Boyd School of Law, La Voz strives to empower, promote and enhance the admission of Latino law students at Boyd, as well as other underrepresented students in higher education. La Voz holds several events throughout the school year, brings speakers to the school, and constantly gives back to the community. In 2008 La Voz was honored by the Hispanic National Bar Association as the Law School Organization of the Year.
Moot Court Team
This March La Voz is sending its first Moot Court team to compete in the 15th Annual Uvaldo Herrera National Moot Court Competition at the HNBA mid-annual convention. The money raised by this event will help send the team to the competition and raise support the Huellas Mentoring Program.
Huellas Mentoring Pipeline Program
Huellas is a four tier mentoring pipeline program designed to help bring underrepresented students into the practice of law. The "circuits" consist of a high school student, an undergraduate student, a law student and a lawyer. The circuits meet for various activities including: shadowing the attorney to court, shadowing the law students to events and discussing higher education.
