What are some of your proudest accomplishments as a student at Boyd School of Law?
Honestly, the thing that I most proud of is simply being a member of the charter class. In the late nineties, I so wanted to attend law school, but I could not leave the state of Nevada at that time. So when they announced the creation of the Boyd School of Law, it was just perfect timing for me. I thought, finally, I can get a legal education! What I didn’t realize until much later in life, however, was just how much more I was getting. For me and my amazing classmates, were just so lucky to be there at the very beginning, witnessing the entire community rallying around this new school as they laid the foundation that has made it the success it is today. It was truly a special experience, one that I treasure.
What is your favorite thing about your current job?
I’m extremely passionate about making legal education accessible. As someone who was the first in his family to go to college, I am fully aware the degree to which education can change a person’s life. Legal education, in particular, introduced me to a richly rewarding career that, as a child growing up in rural South Carolina, I could never have even imagined. It means so much to me that I now have the opportunity to assist others as they embark on similar paths.
