Why did you choose to go to law school?
I cannot think of another degree that allows one to help as many people in different aspects of their lives as much as a law school degree does. There are countless professions where you help others, but there is so much you can do with a law school degree. Whether it is helping someone get out of a bad marriage, seal a record, divide their assets, or more. My passion for wanting to become an attorney furthered after competing on the UNLV mock trial team and falling in love with the process of a trial.
As president this year, what are your goals for the Student Bar Association?
As president of the Student Bar Association my goals include SBA staying as close (or in touch) to as many students as possible. Although being remote can make us all feel distant, SBA’s goal is to create a sense of community through virtual events and check ins. Another goal is to just be there and listen to what the students want and try my best, alongside other SBA board members, to make it happen or make a student feel heard. I hope to host an amazing Barrister’s Ball, hikes, and park days,if it is safe to do so,in Spring.
My favorite class at Boyd so far has been...
Two, actually --Evidence and Critical Race Theory. Both classes were taught by wonderful faculty members, Professor Sara Gordon and Professor Addie Rolnick.
OK, here's a question that will be asked of every student profiled for the foreseeable future, and you get first crack at it:what are you most looking forward to doing when our world returns to some semblance of its former self?
This was my first year not being able to go back to Lebanon and see my loved ones, so I am excited to get to go back and see everyone when our world returns to “normal.”I am also excited to get back on campus and hopefully see everyone during my last semester! the lemon and poppy seed muffins from the UNLV cafe in the hospitality building!
