Two Boyd Students Elected to ABA Positions

Two Boyd School of Law students were elected this year to serve in the American Bar Association (ABA) Law Student Division. In March, Nakul Patel was elected 14th Circuit Governor, and in August, Richard Manhattan was elected as a law student representative to the ABA House of Delegates.

As a member of the ABA House of Delegates, Richard is able to vote for all matters presented to the House. The ABA House of Delegates controls, administers and sets policy for the ABA. As a Circuit Governor, Patel represents law schools in Nevada and Northern California. Additionally, both Manhattan and Patel are voting members of the Law Student Division Board of Governors.

"With only 23 voting members of the LSD Board [Law Student Division Board of Governors], Boyd students now hold two of those seats," said Manhattan.

Nakul Patel is a third-year law student at Boyd. He earned a bachelor's degree in political science from The University of Arizona. Richard Manhattan is a fourth-year law student at Boyd. He earned a bachelor's degree in literature and rhetoric from the University of California, Berkeley.
