Oct. 29, 2014 – Recent UNLV William S. Boyd School of Law graduates surpassed others who took the July 2014 Nevada Bar Exam, according to results recently released by the State Bar of Nevada.

Among the results, 71 percent of Boyd School of Law graduates who took the Nevada Bar Exam for the first time passed the test. Statewide, 69 percent of those who took the exam for the first time passed.

“The faculty and staff at the Boyd School of Law are proud of the work that goes into preparing graduates to pass the Nevada bar,” said Boyd School of Law Dean Daniel Hamilton. “Boyd is the only law school in the state and remains dedicated to graduating students who are capable of serving the people of Nevada. Our graduates outperforming non-Boyd graduates on the state bar exam demonstrates that dedication.”

In other results, 60 percent of all Boyd School of Law graduates who took the July exam, including first-time and repeat takers, passed the test. Statewide, 57 percent of those who took the July exam, including first-time and repeat takers, passed.

The Nevada bar is a three-day exam consisting of several essay questions, one or more Performance Test (MPT) problems, and a Multistate Bar Examination (MBE).
