Young Lawyers Section of the State Bar of Nevada Establishes New Endowed Scholarship
The Young Lawyers Section (YLS) of the State Bar of Nevada has launched a new endowed scholarship at the William S. Boyd School of Law, creating a permanent legacy of support for the next generation of legal professionals.
Designed as a permanent fund, Boyd Law will invest the YLS’s initial gift and use the annual earnings to provide ongoing financial assistance to law students. This structure ensures that the section’s generosity will grow over time, benefiting an increasing number of students in perpetuity.
“The State Bar of Nevada is proud that this endowment will support Boyd Law students, reinforcing our collective commitment to expanding opportunity and strengthening pathways into the legal profession,” said Kari Stephens, President of the State Bar of Nevada. “What makes an endowment especially meaningful is its sustained commitment to the future. This is a significant milestone in our partnership with the law school.”
Comprised of attorneys in practice for 10 years or less, the YLS is dedicated to bridging the gap between the classroom and the courtroom through mentorship, charity, and networking. This initiative was spearheaded by Boyd Law alumni and former YLS Chair Austin Barnum (’19) of Claggett & Sykes and current YLS Chair Jackson Wong (’20) of Holland & Hart, whose leadership was instrumental in securing this investment in Nevada’s legal future.
