Rebecca Nathanson, Ph.D., is the James Rogers Professor of Education & Law at the Boyd School of Law at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. She received her doctoral degree in special education from the University of California, Santa Barbara and her training in the area of child witness research as a Research Fellow at the UCLA School of Medicine. Dr. Nathanson's research is focused on examining the capabilities and limitations of children and youth in the legal system, as well as the emotional impact of participation in the process. Dr. Nathanson developed and directs the Kids' Court School, a nationally-recognized program that educates children and youth about the judicial process and teaches them strategies to reduce system-related stress. She also co-developed the Kids' Court School Competency Remediation Program and the Kids' Court School Immigration Program.
