Join the Indian Nations Gaming Governance Program on October 16th for their fourth annual symposium, "Sovereignty, Speculation, and Strategy: Prediction Markets and the Legal Future of Indian Gaming." This fully virtual event will feature a series of expert panels examining the rapidly evolving legal landscape surrounding prediction markets, state and tribal perspectives, and critical recent court decisions.

In the wake of Students for Fair Admissions v. Harvard/UNC, several lawsuits have been filed challenging Native Hawaiian programs, including a suit by SFFA challenging the admissions program at Kamehameha Schools. This webinar will provide updates on pending lawsuits and context for these current challenges. Speakers will discuss the statutory and historical bases for specific Native Hawaiian programs, major precedents shaping the current legal landscape, and potential impacts of the suits. 

The Indian Nations Gaming & Governance (INGG) Program at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and the National Tribal Judicial Center at the National Judicial College have joined forces to expand training and professional development opportunities for tribal judges across Indian Country. This year’s National Tribal Judicial Academy is designed to prepare tribal citizens — including those without formal legal training — to serve effectively on the bench.
