Economic Justice and Small Business Clinic

At the Economic Justice and Small Business Clinic (EJSBC), we are committed to supporting entrepreneurs, small businesses, artists, and nonprofit organizations in the Las Vegas Valley. If you are a small business owner, representative of a community-based organization, or an artist in need of transactional (non-litigation) legal assistance, our clinic offers a variety of pro bono (free) services designed to help you succeed. 

   

Information for Clients

Entrepreneurs and Startups: Individuals looking to start or grow their businesses seeking advice about their legal foundation.


Small Businesses: Existing small businesses seeking legal support for their operations and expansion. 


Nonprofit Organizations: Nonprofits needing assistance with formation, governance, memorandums of understanding, and applications for and maintenance of tax-exempt status.


Community-Based Organizations: Various types of organizations and enterprises that contribute to a community’s economic well-being. 

 

We provide personalized support through direct legal representation and community partnerships.

 

Legal Guidance: Our clinic provides expert legal advice on business formation, contracts, compliance, and intellectual property.

 

Community Education Workshops: We work with community partners to create workshops with materials that blend legal and non-legal research to enhance a community's understanding of legal principles and identify industry and mission specific best practices.

No Cost Services: Our services are pro bono (free) of charge, making legal support accessible to those who might not otherwise afford it. 

 

Experienced Supervision: Work with law students supervised by experienced faculty members.

 

Community Focused: Our clinic is dedicated to promoting economic justice and supporting the local community.

How to Apply

To become a client of the EJSBC, follow the steps below.

 

  1. Initial Inquiry: Fill out the Prospective Client Form to express your interest and provide basic information about your transactional legal needs. Submitting the Prospective Client Form will not make you an EJSBC client.

     

  2. Consultation: We will reach out to schedule an initial consultation with a faculty member to discuss your transactional legal needs in detail and determine how we can assist you. 

     

  3. Engagement: If eligible, we will collaborate with you as a client or a community partner.
