GGRM Law Firm Establishes Scholarship for First Responders Pursuing Legal Careers

GGRM Law Firm has pledged $1 million to establish a scholarship endowment at the William S. Boyd School of Law at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, creating a transformative pathway for first responders transitioning into legal careers.
"First responders are deeply committed to public service and justice. We want to provide them with the opportunity to carry that commitment into the legal profession," said Toby Yurek, Managing Partner at GGRM. "This initiative is not just about financial support; it's about opening doors for leaders who have already proven their dedication to our communities."
The inaugural GGRM scholarship will be awarded during the 2026-2027 academic year. Eligible applicants include current and former law enforcement officers, firefighters, paramedics, EMTs, and emergency dispatchers. Scholarship recipients will receive financial support toward tuition and related educational expenses. Additional information about eligibility criteria and application procedures will be available through the Boyd Law School financial aid office in early 2026.
"First responders bring real-world experience, empathy, and leadership to the classroom," stated Leah Chan Grinvald, Dean of Boyd Law School. "This program will enrich the classroom and the legal community. We are grateful to GGRM for their philanthropic leadership."
